AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION & RED CROSS Equivalent COURSE
AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION & RED CROSS Equivalent COURSE
We are often asked which class do I need as an Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT)? What’s the difference between a CPR/First Aid/AED class that we offer and a BLS class that other Healthcare providers take? Basic life support classes are typically more in-depth and complex, and are based on working in teams with other or professional rescuers in the medical field, whereas CPR training teaches you the essentials about performing CPR on clients, co-workers and family, as a single rescuer.
Many who attend BLS are training for a medical career such as a doctor, nurse or EMT. Their job duties require a more structured and detailed care, they often have access to different lifesaving equipment that is not typically available in a LMTs office. CPR is for massage therapist who typicallly work where they are likely to only need to know CPR and how to call emergency aid. A professional rescuer will apply BLS skills everyday as they respond to emergency calls. Other professionals including LMTs will acquire the needed skills to save a life with a CPR/AED/First Aid class. Of course as an LMT in Washington State you are welcome to take either course.
We offer one of the most flexible, hybrid approaches that combines online cognitive learning and in-person, hands-on skills practice for your certification.
A video-driven, instructor-facilitated course that gives you an easy, consistent way to train in lifesaving CPR, AED, and first aid programs.
The videos we use, are used by thousands of organizations. They are scenario-based and promote learning and retention because their style is designed to engage students, no matter the students learning style.

The videos are easiest to navigate with a laptop or computer. iPads have been used but are a little more challenging. I don’t know if anyone has tried to complete the videos with a phone. We recommend a computer.
